Larry W. Carter, M.D.

College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. Carter
completed his Internship and Residency at the Medical
College of Georgia in Augusta. He joined the staff of
Orthopaedic Associates in 1994. Dr. Carter is an
Assistant Clinical Professor, Section of Orthopedics,
at the Medical College of Georgia. He is a Fellow of
the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a
member of the Georgia Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Carter
has a special interest in Sports Medicine and Total
Joint Replacement. Dr. Carter is board certified by
the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Paul J. Herzwurm, M.D.

Dr. Herzwurm joined the practice in 1995. A graduate
of the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Herzwurm
completed his Internship and Residency at Eisenhower
Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He served
for two years on the staff of Martin Army Community
Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia, and completed a
Fellowship in Total Joint Surgery in Arlington,
Virginia. Dr. Herzwurm is board certified by the
American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Thomas A. Parfenchuck, M.D.
General Orthopaedics
Adult & Pediatric Spine Surgery
Dr. Parfenchuck earned his medical degree from Brown
University in Providence, Rhode Island. Following his
Internship and Residency at the Medical College of
Georgia in Augusta, he completed a Spine Surgery
Fellowship at the Spine Institute for Special Surgery
in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Parfenchuck joined the
staff of Orthopaedic Associates in 1995. He is board
certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic
Surgery.

Douglas R. Phillips, M.D.

Dr.
Phillips earned his medical degree from the
University of Tennessee-Memphis. He completed
his Internship and Residency at the Medical
College of Georgia in Augusta and joined the
staff of Orthopaedic Associates in 1998. Dr.
Phillips is board-certified by the American
Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow
of the American Academy of Orthopaedic
Surgeons. He has a special interest in
Arthroscopic Surgery and Total Joint
Replacement.

Kevin J. O'Shea, M.D.
General Orthopaedics
Reconstructive Surgery of the Foot and Ankle

Dr.
O'Shea is a graduate of Tulane School of
Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He completed his
orthopaedic surgery residency at Eisenhower
Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Dr. O'Shea then completed a Fellowship in
Reconstructive Surgery of the Foot and Ankle
at Baylor University Hospital in Dallas,
Texas. Following this he worked as the
Southeast Regional Foot and Ankle expert for
the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines for 4
years. Dr. O'Shea is Board-Certified by the
American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Joseph P. Rectenwald, M.D.
General Orthopaedics
Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery
A
graduate of the Medical College of Georgia,
Dr. Rectenwald completed his internship and
residency at the University of South
Carolina/Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital
in Columbia, SC. He subsequently completed a
Fellowship in Hand Surgery at the Hand Center
of San Antonio/University of Texas Health
Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas, prior
to joining the staff of Orthopaedic Associates
in 2003. Dr. Rectenwald is Board-Certified by
the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery
and has a Certificate of Added Qualification
in Hand Surgery.

Randall M. Meredith, M.D.
General Orthopaedics
Total Joint Reconstruction
Sports Medicine
Dr.
Meredith is a graduate of the Medical College
of Virginia and completed a Total Joint
Fellowship at Buffalo General Hospital in
Buffalo, New York. He completed his
Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and Internship
at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort
Gordon, and served as Chief of the Total Joint
Service at Eisenhower until June 2007, when he
joined the staff of Orthopaedic Associates.
Dr. Meredith is Board Certified by the
American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Terry L. Arrington, M.D.

Dr.
Arrington is a graduate of the Medical College
of Georgia. He completed his internship and
orthopaedic surgery residency at the
University of Tennessee College of Medicine in
Chattanooga, Tennessee. He completed a
Fellowship in Total Joint Reconstructive
Surgery with OrthoCarolina Hip and Knee Center
in Charlotte, North Carolina. He joined the
staff of Orthopaedic Associates in 2010. He is
a Candidate Fellow of the American Academy of
Orthopaedic Surgeons and Emerging Leader in
the American Orthopaedic Association. Dr.
Arrington is board-eligible by the American
Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
